Ecosoft E-720 UV water sterilizer

Product information

Ecosoft E-720 ultraviolet water sterilizer is a reliable solution for large homes with two to three bathrooms. With a maximum flow rate of up to 2.7 m³/h, it ensures consistent UV disinfection for higher water consumption and multi-point household use. The system inactivates up to 99.9% of bacteria and viruses at the DNA level, providing biologically safe water throughout the entire home.

The sterilizer delivers 100% physical UV treatment without chlorine or chemical additives, preserving the natural taste and odor of water. A high-purity quartz sleeve maximizes UV transmission efficiency, while the stainless steel housing ensures durability and long-term performance. With up to 9,000 hours of lamp operation, the E-720 offers stable protection with minimal maintenance.

FAQ

  • The blue light is only a visual indicator that the lamp is on. Over time, the UV-C intensity that inactivates bacteria and viruses gradually decreases. After about 9,000 hours of operation (approximately one year), the lamp may still appear bright, but its disinfection performance is no longer sufficient for reliable protection.

  • No, we do not recommend switching the system on and off frequently. This can reduce the service life of the UV lamp and ballast. In addition, the lamp requires a  warm-up period to reach full intensity, so immediate water use after restart may result in insufficient disinfection.

  • Yes. UV disinfection effectively neutralizes bacteria and viruses and is more efficient than boiling for microbiological protection. At the same time, it preserves the natural taste of water and retains beneficial minerals that can be affected by heat treatment.

  • If the system has not been used for several hours, the water remains inside the chamber and may absorb heat from the operating UV lamp. This is normal. Simply let the water run for a few seconds until it returns to its usual temperature.

  • No. A UV sterilizer is designed exclusively for biological disinfection.

  • No, it is significantly less effective in turbid or cloudy water.

For UV light to neutralize microorganisms, it must physically reach them. If the water contains suspended particles such as sand, silt, or rust, these particles can act as shields. Bacteria may “hide” behind them and pass through the chamber without sufficient UV exposure. This is known as the shadowing effect.

For reliable biological protection, proper mechanical pre-filtration is required before the UV sterilizer.
