Ecosoft MO-24 is a fully automated 24…30 m3/h reverse osmosis system. The equipment includes Grundfos high pressure pump, Dow Filmtec™ extra low energy membranes, Danfoss automated valves and Honeywell flow control valves.

The RO system is equipped with a controller and most necessary instrumentation. A range of options is available on request. Ecosoft RO systems offer great value in the following applications.

Feed water goes through sediment prefilters to remove particles.
If using antiscalant for hard water then it is injected before the prefilters, so the chemical is mixed with water more thoroughly.
High pressure pump feeds the prefiltered water into the membrane array. Inside the membranes, feed water is separated into purified water (permeate) and brine with retained impurities (concentrate).
Ecosoft RO systems feature built-in concentrate recycle, sending part of the concentrate back to the pump. Recycle flow control and drain flow control work to sustain the operating pressure and the recycle/waste ratio.
Operating pressure is variable within allowed range. Higher pressure produces higher permeate flow rate and/or recovery. Proper operating pressure and recycle/waste must be set up during commissioning.
Ecosoft RO system runs in a completely automated fashion. The system stops to standby when pure water tank is full. Automated membrane rinse occurs every time before standby, with preprogrammed intervals during standby and service.

  1. changing out expendable filters in pre-filter housings
  2. chemical clean (CIP) the RO membranes when signs of membrane scaling or fouling arise; those include lower permeate flow rate or higher permeate conductivity 10% or more; normally, CIP lasts a few months before another CIP is required
  3. if CIP fails to restore membrane flux, the membrane elements need to be replaced;
  4. whenever an extended downtime is to happen, the membranes should be rinsed and soaked in preservative solution

Important precautions:

  • Carefully read the instruction before operating the unit.
  • Only use piping of equal or larger diameter than the RO system's inlet and outlet ports. Avoid long runs of small diameter pipe.
  • Only use equal or larger diameter point-of-entry filters to provide maximum influent water flow rate. 2,5×10 size filters only have up to 1-2 m³/h capacity (5-10 gpm) and should not be used for this Ecosoft RO system.
  • Membranes are shipped in original packaging and must be installed before operating the system. O-ring seals on the membranes must be on the feed water side of the pressure vessel.
  • Remove plastic wraps from filters before installing them in pre-filter housings.
  • Make sure feed water is supplied to the system at required pressure before starting up the system.
  • Check Lovato protection relay when connecting power to the cabinet. Red light or flashing green light signals phase failure or abnormal voltage conditions as per instruction.
  • Do not use brass, iron, or copper pipe for permeate plumbing.
  • During first run, concentrate flow rate, recycle flow rate, and the operating pressure must be adjusted with the flow control valves. The operating pressure must not exceed 12 bar. The ratio of permeate flow rate to drain flow rate must not exceed 0.75.
  • It is advisable to supply influent water using a feed water tank and pump, and to deliver permeate using permeate tank and pump.
  • Keeping a repair kit is advised.
