OS 5000 controller for efficient and independent operation

Controller OS 5000 is designed for automatic or manual operation of reverse osmosis systems and provides:

  • switching on and off of the system according to the level of water in the storage tank; 

  • automatic hydraulic flushing of membranes; 

  • stopping and showing alert when fault conditions occur (low feed water pressure, high product water conductivity); 

  • monitoring and displaying electrical conductivity and temperature.

Maintenance

For correct and effective system operation it is necessary to do the following:
  • Change sediment replacement filters -at least once every 3 months.

Sediment filter protects the RO membrane from large impurities such as sand, clay particles, etc. Delay in replacing them can damage or destroy the membrane.

  • Carry out chemical cleaning of the RO membrane -at least twice a year.

CIP should be carried out in case of deteriorating purified water quality or capacity reduction. CIP is carried out by using a chemical cleaning unit and cleaning chemicals.

  • Keep a register of maintenance, system operational parameters and water quality.

A history of maintenance and operation of the system will allow the most efficient and timely change replacement filters, chemical washing of membranes and other system maintenance activities.

Feed water goes through sediment prefilters to remove particles.

If using antiscalant for hard water then it is injected before the prefilters, so the chemical is mixed with water more thoroughly. 

High pressure pump feeds the prefiltered water into the membrane array. Inside the membranes, feed water is separated into purified water (permeate) and brine with retained impurities (concentrate). 

Ecosoft RO systems feature built-in concentrate recycle, sending part of the concentrate back to the pump. Recycle flow control and drain flow control work to sustain the operating pressure and the recycle/waste ratio. 

Operating pressure is variable within allowed range. Higher pressure produces higher permeate flow rate and/or recovery. Proper operating pressure and recycle/waste must be set up during commissioning. 

Ecosoft RO system runs in a completely automated fashion. The system stops to standby when pure water tank is full. Automated membrane rinse occurs every time before standby, with preprogrammed intervals during standby and service.

Pre-filters

Sediment filters protect membrane from large impurities such as sand, clay particles, etc. Failure to replace the filters in due time can damage or destroy the membrane. In order to avoid such critical situations, we recommend changing the replacement filter at least once every 3 months.

Clean-in-place

In case of worsening quality of the treated water or a decrease in productivity, it is necessary to conduct chemical cleaning of the RO membrane with a CIP-station and special reagents. To obtain purified water of high quality, we recommend chemical cleaning  at least twice a year.

Long downtime

If you do not plan to use the system for a long time, it is necessary to shut off the water supply to the system, and soak the membrane elements in a special preservative solution - this will keep the membranes working when idle.

Operating log

It is recommended to keep maintenance register for the reverse osmosis system and a log book of the system performance and water quality. The data will help to remember to replace the filters, chemical cleaning of membranes and other maintenance operations connected to the system service.
