The filter Ecosoft FU 1354 CE is designed to reduce the hardness of household water. The system consists of two main components - a module (a cylinder with a control valve) and a salt solvent tank.

What is hard water?

Sediment on the heating elements of household appliances, white bloom on tiles and plumbing, stains on glass surfaces are the results of hard water using.

In addition to the destructive impact on the state of household appliances, a high content of hardness ions has an impact on human health. This problem is inherent in both water from natural sources, and for the city water supply. The reasons for this can be hard source water, the imperfection of centralized water purifuing, as well as the use of outdated technologies.

Effective solution to the problem of hard water

To reduce the hardness of household water, softening filters are used. Ion-exchange resin HCR-S/S (cation exchanger manufactured by Dow, Dowex™) is used as filtering charge. During the filtration process, an ion-exchange reaction takes place -  the ions of hardness salts are replaced by safe sodium ions, that provides normal level of water hardness.

Filter softener reduces energy consumption, increases the efficiency of household appliances and reduces the frequency of breakdowns, significantly reducing the cost of repairs.

Who are its users?

The Ecosoft FU 1354 CE filter is designed for houses and apartments with 3-4 bathrooms. It is intended for softening of water of a household purpose.
The system is designed for daily water purification for 5-6 people. After softening, water can undergo an after-treatment to a drinking state using a reverse osmosis system.

The filter is connected to the cold water supply. Water pre-cleaned from sediment particles enters the filter vessel filled with ion-exchange resin. Water passes through the resin layer which reduces hardness of the water. Purified water is supplied to consumer through the riser pipe of the filter vessel.

After the resin is exhausted, and can no longer absorb the ions of hardness, the control valve switches the filter to regeneration mode. For user’s convenience, the valve settings are programmed so that the filter is regenerated at the time when water is not consumed. 

Regeneration

Regeneration of the filter media is divided into 4 clearly predetermined stages that are carried out by the valve independently. 

  • The first stage - the filter is backwashed in order to plough up the filter media and wash out sediment particles from it. 

  • Then the brine solution is supplied from the brine tank to the filter vessel to pass through resin. As a result, hardness salts are washed out, and together with the remains of solution are discharged to sewers. 

  • At the end of the regeneration, the resin is washed with a direct stream of water (step 3) to wash out remains of brine solution. 

  • The last stage (4) is filling the brine tank with water to dissolve the tablet salt and preparing the solution for the next regeneration. 

After that, the filter can be again used for water purification.

Thanks to the use of a multifunctional valve, the filter does not require constant attention. The only important task connected to maintenance for customer is timely stocking of the salt. It will ensure efficient regeneration of the filter media and thus durable filter service life and water quality.

If any problem arises, the valve will inform about the problem at the display with a text message containing contact information of service center.
