REDUCTION OF IRON AND MANGANESE

FerroSorb® provides deep reduction of iron and manganese
Iron is removed in the following way: ADSORPTION — OXIDATION — ACTIVE LAYER FORMATION — AUTOCATALYTIC OXIDATION. Due to this process FerroSorb® removes most common species of iron in raw water: ferrous, ferric, organic, and colloidal. Active layer of Ferrosorb® contains active sites for manganese removal.
Proven alternative to aeration and chlorination
Ecomix ® shows best performance when raw water is fed directly to Ecomix® unit. Do not use oxidative pre-treatment before the Ecomix® system.

Regenerated as a softener
Ecomix® is regenerated using the same sequence as a common softener: backwash, brine, rinse, fill. Calcium and magnesium ions are displaced from the cation exchange resin matrix with sodium ions. Humisorb® is regenerated with chloride ions.
Iron and manganese are purged by surface scour mechanism.
Iron and manganese are removed during backwash by surface scour mechanism in fluidized bed.
REMOVING ORGANIC MATTER
Organic compounds are removed by the mechanism of hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions.
