ECOMIX® REDUCES:
  • Iron
    Ecomix® reduces iron concentrations: dissolved, oxidised, organic and colloidal. The concentration of iron should not exceed 15 ppm.
  • Manganese
    Ecomix® is one of the most reliable tools for reducing manganese. The concentration of manganese in the purified water should not exceed 3 ppm.
  • Organic matter
    Ecomix® effectively reduces colour, tannins, and chemical oxygen demand. Maximum allowed influent COD is O2 (80 ppm KMnO4).
  • Ammonium
    Concentration of ammonium in purified water should not exceed 4 ppm.
  • Hardness
    Ecomix® softens water with hardness of up to 45°dH (750 ppm CaCO3).

Ecomix is a composite media consisting of 5 materials of different origin and properties.
Includes two unique components invented by Ecosoft.

REDUCTION OF IRON AND MANGANESE
FerroSorb® is a proprietary sorption material for reduction of iron and manganese
FerroSorb® bead
FerroSorb® provides deep reduction of iron and manganese.
Iron is removed in the following way: ADSORPTION — OXIDATION — ACTIVE LAYER FORMATION — AUTOCATALYTIC OXIDATION. Due to this process FerroSorb® removes the most common forms of iron in raw water: ferrous, ferric, organic, and colloidal.
The active layer of Ferrosorb® contains active sites for removal of manganese.
Proven alternative to aeration and chlorination.
Ecomix ® shows the best results when raw water is fed directly to Ecomix® system. Do not use oxidative pre-treatment before the Ecomix® system.
FerroSorb® Bead Cross-Section
Regenerated as a softener.
Ecomix® iis regenerated using the same sequence as a common softener: backwash, brine, rinse, fill. Calcium and magnesium ions are displaced from the cation exchange resin matrix with sodium ions. Humisorb® is regenerated with chloride ions.
Iron and manganese are purged by surface scour mechanism.
Iron and manganese are removed during backwash by surface scour mechanism in fluidized bed.
REMOVING ORGANIC MATTER
Organic compounds are removed by the mechanism of hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions.
